Rosily Vineyard
Margaret River, WA
Rosily Vineyard is named after Vice-Admiral Count François-Étienne de Rosily-Mesros (1748-1832), a French Navigator and Cartographer, who was intimately involved in the ongoing French explorations of Western Australia during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The 12-hectare single vineyard site is located in the stunning Willyabrup sub region of the Margaret River wine district and home to some of the earliest established Margaret River vineyards. The first vines were propagated at Rosily in 1994, using cuttings from the nearby Moss Wood vineyard. From the strong and structured Cabernet grown in the challenging top-of-hill gravels, to the full and fruity Semillon grown in the rich alluvial soils close to a gentle brook; all grapes are grown on unique parcels of soil, in a unique part of the world - and this is reflected in the quality of wines. Rosily believes that the organic certification for the vineyard is a testament to the commitment of creating wines that truly reflect the unique patch of land upon which they are grown. After two years of trials, followed by three years of conversion, Rosily Vineyard became an ACO certified organic vineyard and winery from the 2019 vintage.
